Industrial Placement FAQs

We offer Industrial Placement opportunities across a variety of areas including Engineering, Design, Manufacturing & Operations, Finance, Procurement, HR, Marketing, Commercial, Digital, and many other business functions.

Most placements are designed for students currently studying towards a degree and looking to complete a placement year as part of their course. Specific requirements will be detailed within each vacancy.

Most of our placements are 12-month opportunities, providing meaningful hands-on experience and the chance to make a real contribution to the business.

We're looking for curious, driven individuals who are eager to learn, take ownership, and contribute to a high-performance environment. Passion, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn are just as important as academic achievement.

No. We welcome students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Whilst an interest in automotive is beneficial, we're primarily looking for people who are enthusiastic about learning and developing their skills.

No. Aston Martin Lagonda is the luxury automotive manufacturer responsible for creating some of the world's most iconic sports cars. Our placement opportunities are within the automotive business and not the Formula One™ team.

We welcome applications from talented students globally. Please review the eligibility and right-to-work requirements listed within the vacancy before applying.

Most Industrial Placement opportunities are based at our Gaydon headquarters in Warwickshire or our St Athan facility in South Wales, depending on the role. Location details will be clearly outlined in the job advert.

Some placements may require relocation depending on where you're currently based. We recommend carefully considering the location requirements before applying.

We don't provide financial relocation assistance. However, we often help placement students connect with others joining at the same time, allowing them to discuss accommodation options, car sharing, and relocation arrangements.

Public transport to our sites is limited and may not be suitable for daily commuting. Most employees drive or arrange car sharing, and access to reliable transportation is strongly recommended.

Yes. However, due to the location of our sites and limited public transport options, you'll need to carefully consider how you'll travel to and from work each day.

No. Placement opportunities are site-specific and based on business requirements. We recommend applying only for opportunities where you're able and willing to travel to or relocate to the specified location.

You'll begin your placement with a structured induction programme designed to help you understand our business, culture, values, and expectations. You'll also be introduced to your team and the support available throughout your placement.

Yes. Each year we welcome placement students across multiple functions, giving you the opportunity to build relationships, learn from one another, and develop a valuable professional network.

As your placement comes to an end, we'll review your performance and discuss future opportunities where appropriate. Whilst completion of a placement doesn't guarantee future employment, many students go on to apply for graduate opportunities and other roles within Aston Martin.

Absolutely. Many of our graduates previously completed an Industrial Placement with Aston Martin. A placement is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience, build your network, and develop a deeper understanding of our business before applying for future graduate opportunities.
