Apprentices FAQs

Of course! We're committed to supporting everyone. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the application or interview process, please let us know and we'll do our best to assist you.

The full process can take from one to three months, depending on the number of applicants. We'll keep you updated throughout.

You'll usually start with a video interview, followed by a competency-based interview during the assessment centre. Some roles may include technical questions, depending on the area.

If you attend an assessment centre, yes, you'll get in-depth verbal feedback to help with your development. We're unable to provide individual feedback for earlier stages due to the high volume of applicants.

  • Arrival & meet and greet – You'll meet other candidates. Don't be afraid to chat and include anyone sitting alone!
  • Icebreaker activity – A fun, light-hearted quiz to help everyone relax (not scored or assessed)
  • Group task – You'll work with others while assessors observe. You won't know who's assessing who, so focus on the task and just be yourself. We want to see teamwork, communication, and behaviours that match our values
  • Interview & presentation – You'll deliver a short presentation (you'll receive full instructions beforehand). This is a fair and creative way for you to show us your personality and thinking. We know many applicants won't have work experience
  • Q&A with current apprentices – You'll meet current Aston Martin apprentices in a relaxed session (no assessors present), where you can ask open and honest questions

Yes, we'll give you regular breaks to relax and recharge. There'll be refreshments like tea, coffee, water, and some light snacks. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

Yes, you can. There will be a designated waiting area for them. While they won't be able to interact with the event itself, many parents/carers choose to leave the venue and return later in the day when it finishes.

If you're travelling from a long distance, you'll need to book your own overnight accommodation. We will reimburse reasonable costs up to a set limit this includes hotel, travel, and food expenses, if required. If you're invited to attend an assessment centre, we'll confirm the maximum reimbursement amount and what's covered. Just make sure to keep all receipts, and where possible, ensure they include a VAT number.

Yes, we will reimburse reasonable travel expenses such as car mileage, train tickets, or taxi fares. To claim your expenses, you'll need to:

  • Keep all receipts (with VAT numbers where possible)
  • Submit them after the assessment centre

Please note: we're unable to cover costs in advance, so you'll be reimbursed afterwards.

We'll call you within three working days after the event. If there's a delay (e.g. more assessment days for the same role), we'll keep you updated.

You'll always receive a phone call with your result, so please ensure your phone can accept withheld or landline numbers and that your voicemail is set up.

Yes. Your apprenticeship includes attending college or training provider sessions to complete the qualifications linked to your role.
Depending on the role, you may be given time during working hours to attend classes or work on your assignments, and your manager will support this.

We aim to retain our top talent. While a permanent job isn't guaranteed, many of our apprentices move into full-time roles with Aston Martin after completing their programme.

To be eligible, you must have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas for apprenticeship positions.

Depending on your role and the college schedule, you'll be given time off during working hours to attend lessons, complete assignments, and prepare for assessments. We aim to support a good balance between your work and study commitments.

This varies by apprenticeship level and provider, but typically, you might spend one or two days per week attending college or training, with the rest of the time working at your assigned site, gaining hands-on experience.

Apprenticeships are designed to combine work and study, so yes, you'll be working full-time hours while also studying towards your qualification. We'll work with you to make sure you have the time and support needed to succeed in both.
